In the midst of rehearsing for Just Say DA!: Direct Object, Scott talks about his relationship with objects over the years...

Coffee mugs and I have had a loving relationship for the past several years. We've been fast and fresh together ever since the day we started working at a drive-thru espresso shop in Lincoln, Nebraska, back in 2000. Since then, our relationship has taken on many forms, including Styrofoam, recyclable paper cups, the added protection of the cardboard heat layer, and our reduction strategy to just that one hard-core plastic mug to take with me anywhere and everywhere. Finally, this monogamous relationship has won me over to the loving relationship I have today, without a wasteland of Styrofoam and dead trees.

PROJECTS

Yoga at South Austin Soul Artpad
Good news, everyone! Scott has recently started teaching public classes at a local studio, South Austin Soul Artpad. DA! has had the fortune of taking classes from Scott for several years and we are all the better from the experience. Not only does Scott share a wealth of knowledge about the body; he also creates a unique and playful environment for exploring yoga postures. The compassion he exudes both on and off the mat will be sure to quench your thirst! Congrats on this wonderful achievement, Scott! See you on the mat!

Ariel Dance Theatre
Scott is one of Ariel Dance Theatre's newest company members! Hopefully you saw their incredible production of Shift, Switch, Go! in September 2010. We did, and we were (yet again) amazed by the grace, agility, and presence of Andrea Ariel's latest creation. You can see what all the fuss is about in May 2011 when Ariel Dance Theatre presents their next original project at the Off Center. Congrats, Scott-- we can't wait to see you switching, shifting and going, whether upside down, on a bike, or anywhere else!
