Rhonda F. Kulhanek hails from Olney, TX, but has made Austin her home for several years; she has appeared in numerous stage productions and independent films here in the capital city. Her debut with DA! was as Mrs. Krabbitch, the meddling, bird-watching, spatula-twirling busybody, in Kirk German's Leave it to Beverly, a role she originated in 2009. She has appeared in several roles for ScriptWorks' "Out of Ink" Festival over the years, including Jolene in Sarah Saltwick's Cowboy Fantasia, which was directed by Heather Huggins. Rhonda has also played principal roles in two independent short films which are currently receiving recognition on the film festival circuit, The Greyed Escape and Making Do.
Rhonda's great labor of love is The Mommy Confessions, her one-woman tour-de-force which has been rocking FronteraFest in many different incarnations since 2005, including at the Long Fringe, at Mi Casa Es Su Teatro, and at the Short Fringe at HPT, where she has regularly garnered "Best of the Week" and "Best of the Fest" honors. In December of 2010, The Mommy Confessions debuted at the Royal Theater in Archer City (hometown of Larry McMurtry). Plans are currently underway for a small tour in 2011...
As her hilarious creation Laura Lynn Loving might ask, "Are you with me?" We ARE, Rhonda, we are! Thanks for joining the Collective!
