In the midst of rehearsing for Just Say DA!: Direct Object, Michelle talks about her relationship with objects over the years…

My relationship with elastic bands started at a young age. At the tender age of five, the popular scrunchie fad worked its way into my heart and hair. Each day, I could be spotted on the playground in a brightly colored scrunchie, which I generally tried to match with the color of at least one sock or shoe. When this fad was put on the backburner, so was my passion for elastic bands… until I discovered my sea foam green exercise band. Together we create a strong and flexible bond and continue to grow…

BIOGRAPHY

Michelle Brandt   is currently a freshman at St. Edward’s University where she is working towards a degree in theatre arts with an emphasis in acting. A recent graduate of Dripping Springs High School in Dripping Springs, Texas, her favorite acting credits there include the role of Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables, Belva in The Lottery, and Gilmer in Godspell. ...read more

PROJECTS

Larius Lickler
Michelle just closed On the Town at St. Edward's University as a member of the ensemble and featured dancer; Stephanie Denson was also in the production (AND ROCKED!). Michelle recently joined the cast of Larius Lickler, written by one of DA!’s favorite playwrights, Aimee Gonzales, for Three From Frontera. She understudied the role of Beluga and played three performances at the Hyde Park Theatre.

The Heron and The Crane
Michelle will begin rehearsals for The Heron and The Crane, DA's upcoming educational project. She will be playing opposite Jude Hickey. This summer, Michelle is returning to work at Texas Arts Project this year to where she'll be joined by Heather Huggins, Kirk German, Lisa del Rosario, and Stephanie Denson. She will also be serving as the Dance Captain for SummerStock Austin, an intensive program for college and high school students based at St. Edward’s University.
