NEWS AND MORE
- Heron & Crane taking flight to NEW YORK CITY!
-
After eighteen months performing in elementary school cafeterias, in gymnasiums, in yards, under bridges (and at least one theatre!) throughout central Texas, our multi-award-nominated interactive show for kids is headed to The Big Apple! Yes, Heron & Crane was one of just three productions for youth accepted to The New York International Fringe Festival for 2010 as part of FringeJR! Stay tuned here for more information about our exciting upcoming New York performances (in August!) and our fun-fun-fundraiser (in July)!
- Second season a SMASHING success!
-
Along with 2009-10 seeing Heron & Crane delighting and educating children as far-flung as Manor, and as close to home as the Town Lake YMCA (plus flying soon to New York City!), we had several hits for audiences of all ages! The return of Direct Object, the magical object-based DA! show that started it all, wowed crowds at SVT! The world premiere of Leave it to Beverly, a three-part 1950s-sit-com-gone-wrong, found audiences and critics alike grooving in their capri pants for three weeks at the Off Center, including a fundraiser for GRRL Action! And DA! curated Mi Casa Es Su Teatro for Frontera Fest, breaking attendance records for this annual event with a full day of every kind of entertainment under the sun - all throughout 78704!
- Kennedy Center ON LOCATION with DA!
-
Hill Country Middle School was recently selected as one of ten schools in the United States to participate in On Location: Spotlight On Your Community, a Kennedy Center program designed to allow students the opportunity to produce a documentary telling the story of an arts organization or artist in their community. Guess who their subject is? Da da da, you guessed right-- it's DA!, and we are honored and excited beyond words! So thanks to HCMS! We had a great time filming with these incredible kids, and the docs will go public soon! Learn more about this awesome program HERE!
