Heron & Crane Keeps on Soarin'
Our multi-award-nominated interactive show for kids is now in its FOURTH year of touring-- and we're still going strong! In August 2010, Heron & Crane even went to New York City! Yes, H&C was 1 of just 3 productions for youth accepted to FringeNYC as part of FringeJR! We were humbled and delighted by the tremendous response we got in The Big Apple (from the Wall Street Journal, no less!), and we can't wait to return some day... Meanwhile, 2011 marked another great year, as we continued to tour throughout Central Texas, including our first shows in Round Rock, Waco, and greater Shiner!
The LONG Center is Just a SHORT Jaunt Away
DAYBOYNIGHTGIRL, our collaborative multidisciplinary adaptation of a classic fantasy story, features an original score by Justin Sherburn, choreography by Lisa del Rosario, and a script by Kirk German-- and it's coming to the Rollins Theatre in June 2012 (so mark your calendars now)! Contact us to find out how you can help this dream come true.
Wondrous Waco Weekend
On October 22-24, DA! was honored to participate in a three-day partnership with Mission Waco, an international non-profit outreach program based in McLennan County. Highlights included two fun-filled public performances of Heron & Crane at the Jubilee Theatre, a pro bono performance at West Avenue Elementary (a Title I school in Waco ISD), and a pair of "Acting as Animals" workshops at The Rock, Mission Waco's after-school program for at-risk Elementary students from West Ave. It was an inspiring and unforgettable 72-hour-period of experiences, and we can't thank Mission Waco enough for making this opportunity possible!
